About me (Skylar).
I am a new grad from the University of Michigan where I studied all kinds of design. In high school, I was torn between going to college for engineering or the arts, but luckily I have found a way to combine both sides of my brain through UX and Product Design. I find joy in solving problems with visually pleasing designs that are catered to certain user groups, and because of this I usually look forward to class.
I am always looking to learn new things and find new opportunities to use what I have learned at school and through professional experience, even if it has nothing to do with design, so much so that I found myself becoming a choreographer for a dance team on campus! As you may have been able to guess, I like a challenge.
Education
2021 - 2025
In Spring of 2025 I graduated from the University of Michigan where I worked to get my Bachelors of Arts with a UX Design Minor. I feel that my heavy experience in design mixed with user research skills allows me to dig deep throughout all steps of UX and product design, from the beginning stages of interviewing and testing all the way up to the final prototypes.
Recently I have been focusing mostly on UX Design and Product Design in school and in the job industry. I find that my fine arts background mixed with my UX studies have helped me in many ways in both areas. In UX it helps me be a more visually conscious when it comes to my design work and within the fine arts I find myself taking the users view into consideration no matter the medium.
Experience
A quick peek at where I’ve made design contributions — from UX to visuals. I can’t share all the work, but the projects above give a good idea of what I brought to the table. Check out my resume to learn more about my roles and responsibilities.
